Darker than Macassar Ebony. This board can yield a slightly thicker top if desired.

Very tempting...but I'm still spoiled by the ebony. It'll always be the most exotic wood in the world to me.

There's a little 5 minute movie here (http://www.thefutureschannel.com/dockets/realworld/building_guitars/), the soundtrack for which is a Ziricote Alembic. That might give you some idea.
