Yes, I like Zebrawood :)
This one has a Koa core and sounds wonderful!
Didn't John Entwhistle have a bass similar to that one?
Yessir. Flatsawn Zebrawood... right up there with Birdseye Zebrawood on the cool scale. 8)
Jazzyvee, yes he had a similar one, but likely 74 or early 75, had the more blunt upper horn. It's in the Metropolitan museum of art in NY right now. He also had a darker Birdseye zebrawood standard point too like what EofH mentioned. Entwistle had an omega with stripped wood too, but I've only seen B&W photos of it so I'm not certain if that one was zebrawood.
That's some very nice Zebrawood!
Does anyone know if this is an official advertisement? That's my bass on the left.. Is that the Walnut Wonder on the right? :)
I really like that one on the right. Check out the fingerboard.
Yes, it's very nice, and I was thinking it was poor_nigel's Walnut Wonder, same fretboard wood, but looks like different top wood grain...

Cool ad. I don't think it's Thomas' bass, but a little older.
*Is that Jimmy J's original 5-string in the picture with the 12-string guitar?
Although '76 would have been the correct era, my original 5 had an odd plate-like tailpiece and 3 tuners on the low side. :(
Where the heck is that old axe???

It's hard to tell and the pic gets too blurry when I enlarge, but I wonder if that might be my '77 12 String in the pic?
Bill, tgo
I am the new caretaker of 76-562. Outstanding example in so many ways! My eyes are not what they use to be so will be sending to the mother ship for LED's and maybe a few other upgrades. One of my favorite purchases...
Excellent! The bass will thank you for bringing it up to spec. Come back and tell us about it when you get it back.
