Hi Everyone.
Just seen this Series 1 come up on eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alembic-Series-1997-Near-Mint-4-String-Bass-/200648758571?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2eb799152b (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alembic-Series-1997-Near-Mint-4-String-Bass-/200648758571?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2eb799152b)
I could very well be mistaken, but it looks really similar to the one being sold in this thread recently - http://alembicguitars.net/club/messages/395/111615.html?1314073988 (http://alembicguitars.net/club/messages/395/111615.html?1314073988%20target=_top)
Lots of pictures, and certainly a pretty bass indeed - someone will get a nice bass if they have the spare cash in the current climate.
Cheers
James
haha....that one was mine allright.
I picked up my cocobolo SII medium scale with LED's for not much more than what that guy is asking for my old series I.
Hi.
Sadly looks like the economic situation in Europe still means that even pretty basses like this one are too rich for most people - it's been relisted a couple of times, and the price keeps coming down. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alembic-Series-1997-Near-Mint-4-String-Bass-/200651349005?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2eb7c09c0d (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alembic-Series-1997-Near-Mint-4-String-Bass-/200651349005?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2eb7c09c0d)
Europe may command higher prices than the US, but people still have to have the money at the end of the day, and it seems that high-end basses just aren't selling.
