...had fine taste in Alembic basses. This is probably my favorite one he had of them all. https://www.ebay.com/itm/285467501715
Too bad they are asking two prices for it, and misidentifying as a Series II... I'm guessing Thomas swapped cases with that graphite-necked short-scale he had. But it's still nice to see old #75-150 is still kickin' around. I'd love to have this one.
Yes Poor Nigel had great taste and a lot of basses. I am fortunate that he contacted me be the next owner of his Series II Europa bass. I couldn't resist. That shorty does look nice.

well he sure did. through a combination of serendipity and a large load of money falling out of the sky and landing in my lap, i happen to be the proud owner of his custom series II. or as i call her, the ebony amazon. this thing is the craziest bass
i've ever held. gets played almost every day. hopefully she'll grace the stage with me if i ever get with a band that makes it outta the practice studio. sheesh.
I have two of Poor Nigel's former basses. A really good person with great taste in instruments. I appreciated his sense of humor and his custom packing of basses for shipment (which usually took a couple of hours of unpacking just to get to the case). I'd wondered where the fairy-moon bass went; glad it's in the club. One of my favorite Alembic inlays.
I always wondered where the 75 short scale zebrawood ended up. I'd be interested in that one if anyone in the club has it.
That'd be #75-219, a known duplicate serial number.

*Realized later this morning, the thread with the graphite short-scale was not Thomas' bass... just one he liked a lot. :) Not sure how or why this one's case got labeled Series II.
75-219 I would give that one a good home.
That one is definitely a duplicate serial number. The other 219 used to live here in New Orleans. Different bass for sure, the zebra grain went in the opposite direction.
