Found this today on ebay, a little misleading!

This is ugly and wrong in so many ways...
Yet another ABUSE of the Alembic name ?
Let's see, the manufacturer went out of business 30 years ago, and it needs a new truss rod. But it is un-often seen! WOW! and only $500! But it really is amazingly like an Alembic. Both have strings, knobs, little switches, and a cone-head. A virtual doppelganger!
hehehehe

April Fool joke?
Jazzy I think you hit the nail on the head, got to be!
These O'Hagan basees have popped up before. If you squint real hard, there is a vague resemblance to a Small Body with an Omega cut. Not an April Fool joke, this one.
DERP!
I saw something similar recently...
...This (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Over-Sink-Cutting-Board-With-Cut-Out-Hole-/391077347867?pt=Kitchen_Tools_Gadgets&hash=item5b0e06c21b%20target=_blank).
Definitely an Alembic! I mean, it has an omega, right?

That one is definitely not worth $17, more likely somewhere around $10
Looks like the hardware has been replaced with non brass parts and either the bookmatch or the Omega is centered poorly... Factory second maybe?
Hal (Tomahawk) has a bass similar to the one from the op. (heavily modified)
I'd love to have one of these with some center lams-
