i've been wanting to upgrade my essence fiver for a while, too bad im not in a fretless kind of band. this one checks almost all the boxes for me, if it was a series, there probably wouldn't be much question aboot it. the stock market's up today. it's spring. got a dress rehearsal today....
pretty spendy given the market for used instruments these days, tho. rats!
That is beautiful bass and other than being fretless, a very close approximation to the Deluxe Signature Custom Alembic built for me in 2012. I've seen it before. I think was 2-3 years ago as a Craigslist posting in New Hampshire. I passed then because I had just ordered a Custom Turner Model 1 fretless. BTW...It wasn't up for sale @ anything close to $9,000 back then.
Pretty sure we discussed it here. Or one very much like it.
Brian, do you still have your Turner?

yeah i could almost swear i've seen this very bass pop up around here. but this one has LEDs, whearas the other one didn't IIRC.
no matter. it's a nice instrument, but priced outta line IMHO. 1 feedback seller. good luck to all!
Pretty sure this is the same instrument...

Yeah, that thing is nice... not for me, (already got one!) but it would sure do a number for someone.
RV:
I definitely still have the Turner and love it. This is the bass made with a 35,000-50,000 year old slab of Kauri I got from my son's father-in-law who owns Ancient Woods Limited on Madeline Island in WI. It's my second fretless (the 1st is a long scale Series I conversion) and is medium scale. The neck feels like an Alembic but the body is so much smaller than my Alembic and at less than 8 lbs. it's a nice change up from the Standard point long scale.
Brian, those are cool basses, yours sounds really nice, and a fretless too! The wood you used sounds amazing!
That fretless truly is beautiful.
Curious to see Brian's Turner fretless. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, knowing look)
It's not that I don't have photos but since this is an Alembic site, I didn't think it was appropriate. I can email a few to you if you're really interested.
