Hang out a while, have some coffee with the cake and you'll see better hack-a-moles than that. This was a single pickup export Distillate somebody added another AXY to. Looks like a non-Alembic Volume, (or Pan?) pot. One, maybe two of the switches are replacements, but may work. There are more eloquent ways of relocating a battery. I just did it. Bass is legit. Price is silly. On the other hand, I've seen a waaay more dorked-up Distillate sell for more than that, so... best of luck to 'em.
That battery looks lonely in that Giant hole in the body. You could store a sandwich in that hole along with the battery.

Reminds me of an old Saturday Night Live sketch.
Found it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKOc6hXMDhc (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKOc6hXMDhc)
I do wonder if someone had converted it to a lefty at some point in it's history and created a new cavity for the electronics and now it's back as a righty.

That's what I was thinking.
Bill, tgo
David,
That link is hilarious! I also thought of Casady's 72-01 hidey hole in the bass.
I think Jazzy and Bill win. I bet it was still an unwieldy thing to play though.
Here was one of my favorite Distillate mods ever. Look how the wood was grain-matched to cover the old AXY rout. I think this guitar sold for less than $2K.
now listed not twice, but thrice! pick your price!
that's why i wouldn't touch anything from japan with a ten-foot yadda, yadda, yadda...
