Look here. (http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=493437%20target=_blank)
This bass has been offered since 12/3/08, so maybe an even better deal could be had.
That would be this bass (http://club.alembicguitars.net/index.php?topic=14507).
Doh... I took a quick look here but still managed to miss it. Thanks Dave...
I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet.
I'm surprised as well... would be a great bass for a Metallica type of situation.
With the exception of Danno, I think the vast majority of the Alembic community would rather look at a nice piece of wood. One would think, though, that a reasonable price on any Spoiler would make it attractive.
Actually, I'm not even sure about Danno - he might prefer to look at the wood, but feel the solid black is more appropriate for his on-stage gear in his chosen genre. And, you know, I think when he's in this idiom, he sometimes gets a bit, uh, sort of carried away.
i love that bass, i just don't have enough money, and it makes it even harder since i want to start a Metallica tribute/type band, maybe she will be mine one day

I do love the simple elegance of black but I also have some flame maple, quilt maple, flame koa, flame walnut, spalted something (on a Stambaugh) and cocobolo. All are very dear to me but would not cut it with a heavy music, angry and tattooed crowd. If I didn't already have a black Spoiler (83) I would have picked this one up. And yes I get intensely carried away on stage as is fitting for my ...... uh....what's the word?..... Idiom sir? Idiom yes! Thank you Concorde! Huge..... tracks uh land!
Had every confidence you'd see through that one, Danno!
Hey Danno,
If the Stambaugh in question happens to have a dragon inlay, I'm pretty sure that would have a mango top.

Thanks! Yes it does, double dragon really with Signature electronics ta boot.
Someone get this Spoiler for their own and acquire a case of Alembic fevah! That's how I got hooked.
