For The Guitar Players . What are your thoughts on this one ?
Beautiful guitar... I love the old cream and brown pickups. I'm sure you've seen the question, but there doesn't appear to be a power supply with the guitar, just the cable.
I'm willing to bet that at some point this guitar went back to Santa Rosa for some new pickups. The original ones would've matched the humcanceler, no?
My guess is Mahogany/Maple neck and maple back, but this is almost certainly wrong. Anybody with a better guess? I would have guessed a zebrawood back paired with the top. Was this type of contrast common?
Todd.
I'd guess it's mahogany core, koa back, walnut-&-maple neck. I know it's yummy!
Peter
I'm almost positive the neck is Walnut and Maple.
My first guess is Zebrawood/Myrtle/Walnut for the body.
Aside from the Zebrawood, everything else the typical fare for this run of Small Standard instruments.
I have decided to bid on this one. I already have a blue box to use with it. I hope it is not too neck heavy. Can anyone with one similar comment on the balance?
Wish me luck,
Todd.
Hi,
This guitar is good old example.
My guess is Zebra top, Birch core, Walnut back.
My 75-145, 75-147, 75-150 have Birch core and looks are just like it.
I agree Walnut & Maple neck.
I think the guitar is not too neck heavy.
My 75-145 SSB is not to dive.
Back strap pin is correct position for the balance, nowhere the other.

The more I look at the back, I'm actually thinking Koa....
Todd, My 75-137 is practically the same guitar, and it balances perfect~ remember the SS guitars are about 5 inches shorter than a 30.75 bass. Good luck on the auction!!!!
Thanks! I hope I get a chance to see how it balances. Auction ends sometime on Friday.
Todd.
I could peek - but I would guess Walnut for the back without a record.
Hello Eiji,
Do you now have 75-150 as referred to here:

?
No, 75-145 is mine.
Others are reference.

Well. Apparently $3629 wasn't enough to take home the prize. I'll have to wait for the next one. I didn't really expect this one to go that high.
Todd.
The selling price surprised me too, especially in light of the fact that it doesn't come with the power supply. I guess if I ever decide to sell The Other One, my '76 Series I guitar, I'll put some cream colored pickups in first! It's true blonds have more fun! hehehehe
Bill, tgo
The seller had updated the listing saying the power supply had been found and was in good condition. So, at least whoever got it will also get a power supply.
I have been checking this morning hoping the high bidder decides not to pay, but no luck so far.
Todd.
