Here's an instrumental piece...the lead and rhythm are played on piccolo bass...other than that, there's a little fretless bass in there. That's it!
It's on my myspace page...

Thanks man. I enjoyed it very much, fit the mood I was in.
But I have to ask, what is the point of a piccolo bass?
That is an unanswerable question, my friend. But I've found a lot of interesting stuff to do on it.
Stanley Clarke also has found some very interesting stuff to play on piccolo bass. :-)
I personally doubt if i'd ever need one. I think I'd only go as high up as a tenor bass.
In fact once I get my hands on another alembic 4 string, I will re-string my SC as a tenor to see what it's like.
I do play more at the Low end and occasionally get up to the high notes.

You want it, you get it, you use it! That is the point. I never got a piccolo because I have 6's and a 7. Music is whatever you want it to be and creating origional music on your instrument is even more satisfying. I enjoyed the tunes on your myspace.
hb3, that song is by the animated band Dethlock on Adult Swim. It's Spinal Tap for the extreme metal crowd. Check it out.

Yeah, I don't think I'd be able to play what I'm playing on a 6 or 7 stringed instrument -- or even a 5. I'm tuning it a little weird.
Thanks for the comments.
Applejuice, are you Arizona?
Yeah I am. Thats what people call me. I like it better than Joe.
