Just got back from BB Kings. Great show, great sound, vip seating and enjoyed a steak while I listened. I think these folks have the right idea. Bassist used a Yamaha JP sixer through an Eden 410. Barely had to use my earplugs.

I saw Holdsworth about 10 or 11 years ago here in New Orleans Jimmy Johnson was on Bass great show

According to the Holdsworth site, the bass player for this tour is Ernest Tibbs.
Ernest Tibbs? You think maybe his parents were old time country music fans (remember Ernest Tubbs)?

Bill; two wrongs don't make a right
Alright. Be careful or I'll have to break out some Porter Wagoner references.
P.S. My dad used to religiously watch the Ernest Tubbs 1/2 hour TV show (B&W) every Saturday in Dubuque. I believe it was followed by Frankie Yankovic (or was that Lawrence Welk).

Few people know that Tammy Wynette originally wanted to record DIVORCE with the following lyrics:
My A - L - E - M - B - I - C was completed today LOL

some years ago I picked up Holdsworth's Metal Fatigue CD, Jimmy Johnson plays some tasty bass lines on the title cut,
I wish I could have seen him play with Alan.
I'm still trying to figure out some of the things I heard him play. not sure if its a fretless and if its a 5 string or dropped tuning.
I believe he used 2 Alembic 5's for these albums. Mr. Tubbs did an amazing job, though I prefer JJ's soloing.

JJ was using an Alembic 5 string when I saw him
