What brand of flats has a royal blue silk winding?
Thanks,
Charles
D'Addario Chromes? This pic isn't great, but it's the only one I can find of the headstock:

Or is the color you're thinking of darker?
Hard to tell from the pic on my screen, Harry, but I think it is darker. Almost like the blue in the add your message here bar.
i would tend to guess chromes too.
I've just checked my Curbow fretless, and........Yep.......they are D'Addario Chromes.
George
Cool. Thanks guys.
chromes bro. check my bass on the custom archive, and youll see the blue silk
Which one is it, Jimmy? Hard to find since it only lists last poster and not thread started.
I think Jimmy meant the Bass of Doom on the Custom Archive (http://www.alembicguitars.net/info/FC_doom.html%20target=_blank), not the FTC threads. The picture of the (chrome finish) tailpiece shows off the blue windings very nicely.
Or you can look at mine (http://www.alembicguitars.net/info/fc_orionnebula.html) as I also use Chromes.

Nice one, Keith. But if I may say so - all that spalty spectacular takes away some attention from the strings.
Oh, yes, that's definitely them. Thanks, guys.
Adriaan,
That was one of my concerns when I ordered the bass and you confirmed it. The string wrappings get lost in the wood. I guess I should have just ordered it in white. ;-)
Keith
Olympic white?
Of course. People have to be able to pronounce it.
What did I say?

I thought you were making the old Alembic/Olympic pronunciation joke.
Wasn't I?
