I need a chord charting app for Mac / iPad (and Android if poss) that can show the beats per chord as I am playing with a guitarist who's timing is a little erratic. Most of the apps I've seen seem to just show chords above the lyrics, without any guide to timing.
Any suggestions?
get a new guitarist! LOL

Don't know if this is the sort of thing you're looking for, but I use it all the time to chart stuff....
Mike,
How is the 'practice' mode on iReal b?
It looks like a very cool app.
We just got an ipad . . . If I can only stop playing Texas Hold 'Em, Angry Birds and Scrabble with my wife I may find more uses for it!!!
:-D
I use iRealb a lot, for gigs and practice. Best feature - you can transpose tunes to any key. Worst feature - the charts you can download are chords only, no lead sheets. But i like ita lot.
The app comes with only 3 styles of backup- medium swing, Latin/bossa, and pop rock. The additional styles sets are extra $$ but worth it. Songbooks like the jazz 1300 are a free download from the site (all the realbook volumes & then some ). All in all the sounds are on par w/ band in a box though not as tweakable. the fact that you can chart ideas on your phone / pad makes it my go to. I wish I had this when I was in college, it would have saved me sooooo much time practicing.
And the charts are all editable as well, another good feature, so you can tweak the changes in the charts. It's a very useful app.
Thanks guys - irealb looks great. I'll give it a go.
Terry - the guitarist is an old time blues/bluegrass singer songwriter used to playing solo, so the timing is, shall we say, fluid.
