Well, it's after midnight here, so technically I missed it - but I'm still up, so I say it counts: Happy Birthday Bill The Drummer! Mr. Kruetzmann is 74 today (May 7).
Also (it apparently being a day for percussive babies), Vince Welnick's old bandmate Charles Lempriere "Prairie" Prince is 70 today.

I heard three different shows where Bob announced his birthday. Only one was correct, 5/7/77.
My first 2 shows, consecutive nights, he announced Billy's birthday both nights. It was December. Seems to be a theme with ol' Ace, eh?
A few months later, spring '80, he gave us "I'd like to take advantage of one of our interminable tuning breaks to announce Billy's write-in candidacy for President; 'A vote for Kruetzmann is a vote for dancing in the streets!'". That was the year we were faced with the choice of Carter or Reagan. I gave it all due consideration, and there was at least one ballot marked "William 'Fairplay' Kruetzmann"........................

According to Bob Weir, Chuck Berry has numerous birth dates throughout the year as well. :)
All some of his milder humor; I heard/read/saw somewhere a while back one of the Dead's entourage (sorry, couldn't tell you who; might have been Parish) say that typical Bobby yuks is something like (as the person said had happened to him) standing in line at the airport & Mr. Weir turns to him and asks (just loud enough to be heard at the counter) "Do you really think that fake passport's going to work?"
