Hey guys & gals
I took a drive from Chicago area to visit Will Gunn yesterday in Iowa.Wow what a fine assortment
he has of new basses that he treats like priceless gems.I was lucky enough to leave with a brown bass. Will was a great host and excellent
to do business with.I sold a Brubaker and Fodera
Victor Wooten Monarch classic to buy this bass &
it couldn't have been more worth it.It was hard to part with my Fodera because it did get one really good tone. When I got home I plugged in to my Aguilar and instantly all my concerns vanished.I am in awe of this bass.will post pic's
later. thanks Alembic for being more than I hoped for.
Mike
Welcome and congratulations on the Brown bass! It's nice to hear that the tone compares so favorably to the basses you sold to get this one.
I've spent a lot of time checking out the basses on Will's site - he certainly has some beauties there!

Michael, welcome! Your bass is a sure-fire beauty and huge sounding, no doubt. Will is a top notch guy and a pleasure with whom to talk Alembics, music and stuff in general.

Welcome and congrats!
Hi Mike,
Sweeeet...
Congrats and welcome!

Welcome aboard, Mike, and congrats on the Brown Bass! Your user name, Bones... as a long time Star Trek freak, the thing that popped into my mind was, I'm a bass player, not a brick-layer, Jim! Or some such thing.
Anyway, I'm glad to hear you like the Brown Bass sound. I've got a custom in the works that has Mahagony (and Vermillion) in the neck, and so, should have much of the Mahagony-dominated sound... so it's good to hear a thumbs-up.
Welcome to the club, and again, congrats on your new bass. Will Gunn seems like a nice fella.
