Here's some from earlier that I hadn't gotten a chance to post until today:

and a detail of the Burl Maple:

But not anywhere as lovely as with some finish on it:

  Hope you love it too!

Thanks Mica! The burl maple looks awesome!

That is wicked! Love that little batch of flame at the bottom too!

I think I found a picture of the original slice...

It's the last slice on the page... 51110-3. You can tell by what I think is spalting near the bottom. Sort of looks like a skull.

Justin, do you have any pictures of your Further? Burl maple is cool.

jerico

There are pics of my Further in the FTC threads, towards the bottom (search the titles for Justin's burl maple Further).

Can't wait to see this one all finished!

You have Honey Pie... very nice! When I ordered this Excel, Susan said that the top would be similar to Honey Pie. They both look great.

I also like the recessed logo and flame maple neck. I have an MK Signature Deluxe on order that will have both. Hopefully that will show up on these pages one of these days.

I can't wait to get this Excel. I sold my fretless Fender jazz bass a few months ago not realizing I would miss fretless so much. Oh well, I think it's getting close now.

Yours has a very nice color. It does look a bit like Honey Pie - the color is like heavy coffee with a lot of cream in it!  I really like the maple core on yours, it is awesome! Purpleheart seems to jive well with burl too. Very elegant!

If all goes well, we're only days away.

Thanks for the update Mica... it's looking great! You just made this cold rainy Monday seem not so bad

The Purpleheart accent really sets it off!

Already gone from here, but preview photos are always nice:

Drop dead gorgeous. Don't forget to pluck the open A string around the 20th "fret" like I told you on the phone.
