That picture makes my tummy feel all fluttery.

A truly amazing instrument.

And Mica,

Do you keep omitting the headstock shots just to torture me?  It's worse than waterboarding!

That one gives the Lions Roar a run for its money.
Must be one of the most beautiful basses you have made. Stunning.

David, Truly an piece of functional art worthy of coveting by anyone from the most skilled to the new initiate. If I was in another type of group it would be a 12 not a 10 for me. Congratulations on an instrument of a lifetime. May it inspire and delight you and I thank you for sharing it with us on these pages. Play it in great health for many, many years to come.

Thanks everyone for your comments and sentiments. It is nice and wonderful to hear that this project is worthy of your posts. This instrument is certainly a 'looker'. Can't wait to see more pix (back, whole instrument?) and in conclusion, to actually get this in my hands to create. It is very exciting, no? In the meantime, I wait in frazzled anticipation and quietude.

Danno: Yo man, How do you think this would sound on your El Whappo Jr.?

dannobasso

Beyond stellar. The tonal palate you will have at your fingertips will be beyond the dreams of avarice. I've played Tripp's wide 8 and this  should surpass it in sustain and deep tone.

The  Accugroove (to me ) is a very uncolored sound, no controls for tweets and mids, each component is separated from the others. Full sound that is reproduced not enhanced.

wow, what a sound machine! i love the fretboard, the tailpiece, the wood, the electronics, the scale length, the number of strings... such a complete instrument! i would love to hear it!!

Absolutely stunning. This is such a 'complete' instrument. There's not a single aspect that lets it down. You're one lucky guy David!.

Well, the weight might pull you down, but other than that....

Definitely COTM material.
