Anyone have any luck getting these recently?

I can't imagine putting anything but light gauge strings(40's) on a medium scale bass..especially any kind of Alembic.

It's been discussed before, but I've found that lighter gauge strings, especially B and E string, ring truer, more like a string than a bar. As the stiffness increases, the harmonics start getting less correlated and more clangorous. Also, as you go up the fingerboard, on the B string especially, it's harder to keep the strings in tune.

Rick Turner said pretty much the same in a 90's interview with Bass Player Magazine.  I think he, and edwin are correct.
