Susan finished the proposed drawing for your tricked out Tribute. Let me introduce you to Rosie:

The body can't have the contouring if we are to use the brass pickup ring.   Here's an alternate view without the ring:

  And finally just the inlay:

Keep in mind these mock ups are meant to help your decision and the real thing will of course look much better. You can email my mom with your comments or post them on this thread if you like.

Here's the cowgirl version you requested:

We used Lacewood for the hat to give it a nice texture and updated the leaves to silver like the stem.

Any work started on my Tribute yet?

We've been working on your guitar. Here's your neck:

and the top laminate we selected:

We've also got the whole brass pickup ring engineered for the contoured body on your guitar. If you've been following Henry's Tribute, we spent a good amount of time getting everything just right for doing a neck through Tribute (Henry's is the first, yours is the second).   I suspect I'll be posting some pictures of what looks very much like a guitar for you next week.

That was some long week, huh? Anyway, the guitar is much father along, and these shots are from last Thursday:

Look how nice that top popped out with the finish. We've got sealer coats on and the fingerboard inlay completed (as well as fingerboard levelling and fretting). James has started cutting the pieces for the body inlay.

James has been working on the body inlay. He's got all the little shell doodads cut out:

These are the reverse of each piece.  With the paper pattern on the finished side, there isn't alot to see there. Also, the silver pieces are not yet cut (the stem). Note the black mother of pearl doesn't look too black from the back, but looks nice and dark on the reverse.  I couldn't resist trying to do the puzzle:

Yikes! There's a lot of little pieces in that! This is the paper pattern I was referring to above. Judging from my attempt, you're probably very glad your inlay in the the capable hands of James.

Here is the finished inlay.

The image is slightly overexposed - the Mother of Pearl isn't completely washed out, there's lots of figure in it.

Susan:

The inlay looks great!  Do you have any idea when the guitar will be ready?

I haven't heard from you lately?  Any progress on the replacement case and the CD with the photos and stuff?

From my inbox today, I see you got the message about the CD and the case. Let me know when you receive everything, and maybe you can find a good home for the other case.
