You guys are going to get a kick out of this; it's a traditional style, with a difference!  Oh, and an amazing quilt as well.  Congrats Gary!

I first saw a portion of this instrument featured in an Alembic ad in Vintage Guitar (April?) and it became the inspiration for one of my projects.

Prior to seeing this ad, I mistakenly thought that Alembic was out of business.

Moral: GOOD advertising works on many levels...

Pretty bass, very clean look, and I am sure lots of brightness in tone to help cut through the mix.  Maple fingerboards do have a different feel than Ebony, Rosewood, etc.  Please offer audio samples of the tone.  Enjoy this work of art!

Good grief, the thought of Alembic being out of business.  If you want to kill me with that thought, at least I am in the the hospital to deal with that stress

Re: out of business -

Imagine MY relief when I saw the ad and discovered that they are not only still in business, but functioning at the top of their game!

Proof is in the ad and the spectacular/inspirational bass featured in it and the website and this forum and the customer service and...

I think VINTAGE GUITAR is exactly right as an advertising venue for Alembic.  My usual response I hear when I bring up Alembic in conversation with other guys is, 'they're still around? ', so I hope they can stick with it.

It would be nice to see an ad in Bass player now and again. Show those Warwick, Fodera and Fender players what they're missing :-)

Yeah it would be nice especially if the reviewer could move past the tired debate about their price and look at their true value as musical instruments with high end build qualities.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!
