Is it possible to replace the q switch on the spoiler with a single variable q control??? what would something like that take???   thanks .

Tracey Gholson (fretted4)

has this even been done before?

Valentino Villevieille (valvil)

I'm pretty sure the answer would be yes, it can be done, and yes it has been done ( maybe not a spoiler, but I do believe someone has done this or asked about it some time ago); Mica can tell you how much it would be.

I seem to recall that Mica answered this in another post - that the CVQ can only be put on a Series II instrument.  It probably has something to do with the onboard preamp card.

Now, you can go from a on/off Q to a 3 position Q on any model.  You could probably also have Ron change the values of the Q positions.

Mica can elucidate us on feasability and bank account impact.

We made one Spoiler with a CVQ for a customer in England many years ago when I first started working here. After my dad was done with the electronics, he told me to never sell that again.

He so rarely says no that I must pay attention when he does. CVQ is only available on the Series I/II basses and guitars.

mica,  how much would it be for a three way q switch upgrade?

Matt Bulmer (prime)

The 3-position Q is $55. I actually got the answer from Mica a short while back myself.
