I think a dark bass on stage, with all the lights, (dim or none at all) becomes invisible to the audiance.

elwoodblue

here's a nice dark Alembic.
...might be invisible on the stage...but you know they would feel it in their chest.

I just removed the h (in respect for children reading...)

Brittle would translate to fragile in French although it is not the exact same meaning in English.

I'm thinking about african blackwood for the core, neck laminates, top and back. What about the weight ?

mica

I can imagine the weight would exceed 13 or 14 pounds. Extremely heavy.

pierreyves

what you may feel as dark core ?

pierreyves

baf... mines are 10.36172632 pounds... what is the weight of MK 4 balanced k maple ?

mica

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean with baf or feel as dark core maybe you can rephrase?
The weight of course has many variables, but don't you have an MK4 Balance K in Maple?

pierreyves

baf = no worries = pas de probl?me.
I had my SC at work yesterday night, I don't have something to take the weight precisly at home OK ?
Feeling = sentir ...
what you think about dark core with african blackwood on top, back & stripes ? I wan't the nearest black for the core...  maybe lighter as ABlackw ?

In case of imminent purchase or order, wich retailer may I choose ?

keith_h

Pierre-Yves,
You can choose what ever retailer you wish. This is true whether they are in Europe or the United States. I do not know the rules for Europe but in the US the maximum discount a dealer can give is 25% off of the retail price. I know of several European members that have purchased their basses from US dealers due to favorable exchange rates.
