in Germany the Voltage is 230 V at 50 HZ +6 % und -10 %, (until the 90s it was 220V). I recently aquired an F-1X
from GB where the Voltage is 240V.
 
So is the 220 or the 240 setting prefferable?

No danger using either, but we recommend the 240V setting.
