Naming your Alembic(s)

For close to three decades i have longed for an Alembic guitar. No fancy pedigreed Fender or Gibson or any other would do. For me it would have to be a Northern California homegrown like myself. At last we have found each other. 04T13267. Not quite stone stock. With ebony and purple heart running up the center of her LED illuminated neck. Understated yet relentlessly exquisite. Definately strong woman energy in this one. I am thinking of naming her Susie after Susan Thor Wikersham of Alembic.
Those in favor say aye those opposed get back to work or go make music.

Welcome Peter; sound like you've acquired a very nice guitar.  If you care to post some pictures in the Showcase section, we would all love to see them.

Urobouros, welcome.
By strong woman energy do you mean that it can be soft and sweet or strong and kicking A, supportive in the background or taking the lead, depending on the demands of the situation?

Welcome Peter from another Nevadan and congratulations on your new Tribute. Enjoy!

By the way - did someone mention pictures?

 . . . Wake up little Susie, wake up . . .

urobouros? as in the worm uroburous? a great piece of obscure, fantasy literature. (Watch out for the mantichores).
Another tolkeinite and now this. By all means, you should be playing nothing but an Alembic.
Welcome Peter and Mark.

My S1 is called Selwyn. Ironically, that's also the name of my brother's pet rubber chicken.

People in the bands I play in have nicknamed my Series I and called it The Rolls as in Rolls Royce, or simply The One.

Hi Peter,

Welcome and that is one sweet guitar you have there. I'd be pleased if you named her Susie, so I say Aye!

And speaking of Susie-When I was but a child of 4 or 5 I had a crush on the Everly Brothers, both of them. I sang  Wake up Little Susie all the time. I was convinced they wrote it for me. It drove my parents nuts. They were almost relieved when I started in on You Ain't Nuthin But a Hound Dog.

Hi Peter,

I say Aye, now how about some pics of your new legend Susie?

Happy New Year!!!

So far I have:

The Tribute, aka The Alembic

I also have named my other guitars:

The Schecter
The Danalectro
The Ibanez
The Gibson
The Taylor
The Strat (notice that this is the only guitar other than The Tribute that was named after the model name)
and
The Bass

I guess I am not very original when it comes to names. I have however named our cats, dog and children.

Well, since I have only one bass, I just call my Spoiler my bass.

Well, as many will already know I'm another Tolkien nut and my Triple O is named Sorne-Raama (Eagle-Wing). Hopefully I may be able to post some pics soon.

I've never been one to give names to instruments but my new (1998) Epic 5 has a name.
The background:  The pastor at our church has been a real pain in the butt lately.  She has a kind-of strange name and we have nicknamed her Bobinda. When I went into the club posts to show my wife pictures of the Epic, she asked what the top wood is.  I said, Bubinga.  She said, Bobinda?
We had a good laugh and agreed that my Bubinga Epic 5 will be called The Reverend.

I haven't named instruments. When needing to refer to my guitars/basses I call them:
The/My Orion
The/My Brown Bass
The/My Hagtrom or 8-string Bass
The Jazz Bass ('76' with Jim Williams active
                electronics)
The/My Vox Bass
The/My Acoustic Guitar (mid 70's built at sea
Fender but ok for my use)
The/My Fender (62 Stratocaster)
