30 years? that says alot Big Tee...........i'm in my 29th year with my Vintage 1972 alembic.

Beyond having influences, which I am sure he does, Tony is an influence. If you haven't heard go go music, do it now. I've been listening to Trouble Funk since the early 80s and that groove has been inside all of my playing ever since, even when I'm playing country or bluegrass!
 
I didn't get to see TF until 1986 or so and they wore out the audience in Boston (although equipped with a Fender for that show) in about 3 hours and were just getting warmed up!

One should never try to assume anyone's taste without getting it directly from the source... The Author.  
 
Why did you not mention John Francis Anthony Jaco Pastorius III, Percy Jones, Andy West, Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Berlin (Just to name a few...)
 
Your list is somewhat skewed, with assumptions of your own bias, and I believe it's wrong.  
 
I would never assume anyone's taste.
