This might be most northernmost place any Alembic bass has ever been played on. At the Spitsbergen islands just a mere 660km from the North Pole.
Usually my Series II is in frequent use when I play with my ships' band to entertain the cruise guests.

That is a great picture. I can relate to thrill of the experience because my Father worked for the Hapag-Lloyd ship line for many years and he had endless ship experience stories to tell me about.
  Very Cool !

Cool! Well, perhaps not as cold as I expected so far up north.

Captain my Captain -
You look absolutely overjoyed - and who wouldn't be? A beautiful Alembic, a beautiful sunshiney day at sea and a ship that is under your control.

Rock On!

Hi Jan!  Good to see you; thanks for the great pic!

Fabulous picture!  I had an uncle that was a Captain aboard Mobil Oil tankers for many years, nice to know we have a master lurking in our ranks.

I bet you don't let the harbor pilots drive your S2 till you get out of the jetties!  Best of luck, Captain.

Thanks guys for the nice comments!
It would also be funny to know what Mark King would think if he could see where his old bass is today :-)

I was going to say that it's the bass in this thread, which would mean the top is Coco Bolo, and that it looks unusual because of the way the light is reflecting off the top.  But the neck lams don't match up, so maybe Jan has picked up another SII.
