FC Bass

Wolf: Alembic & Mesa, always a good choice! :-)

Mario: It's an old Morley Power wah fuzz (from 1975)
Original for guitar I think, but with an extreme wide sweep.
I only use it for wah/fuzz sounds (with a Big Muff), see here
I never tried it with normal bass sounds though...
I'll see if I can try it in the next couple of days, I'm sure you won't miss highs with this pedal :-)

If you want one of these old ones and don't need the fuzz, best would be to get the Power Wah  (PWO)
They are a lot cheaper, have the same Wah sound and you can switch between Wah/volume pedal mode.

I have one of those:

You are correct - the sweep is very wide and smooth and the fuzz is vicious. Sounds WAAYYYYY better for bass than guitar, IMO.

I'd use it more, but it sucks tone when in bypass mode - any suggestions?

Sorry for hijack.

Flip, Yes ! I have the old Mesa  Road Ready   cabs with 10 EV's . I have one more 2x10 that's not in the picture.

I use an RMC wah by Geoffrey Teese.  Love it.  You can see all of his wahs here.

I have the exact same Mesa 2x10 as Sonicus  Also have a 2x15 EV Diesel. What I have not... is a couple guys to help me move it around  As I heard Diana Ross once say...  This mother 's heavyyyyyyy.

Jazzyvee, that is a gorgeous guitar! The wood looks like it is on fire!

I never noticed that effect before but I can see what you mean. Maybe it represents the dragon emerging from the fire. :-)
Certainly no fire coming from my fingertips :-)

I used to own a Morley Power Wah. Not only did it have a good fuzz but it was a good volume pedal. I regret selling it to a lead guitarist I used to play with.

It does look like the dragon is coming out of the fire! Maybe it's Smaug coming out of The Lonely Mountain!

Wild! Thanks, Flip, it is always great to know fuzzes that work good with active electronics, too. Have to check those Morley, probably the Power Wha, and the McCoy Bill is using (RMC3 looks really interesting).

Flip, I also have this tonekilling issue on the Dunlop, so I pass it trough a Boss LS-2 line selector as a main bypass.

So, how's the Series working out for you on stage? Sure looks good!

jazzyvee

I've only done one full 2 hour gig with it so far so it's still a work in progress as I still need to be able to move the controls instinctively from one type of sound to another and know it's there before starting to play as it's not easy to tweak between notes on a busy bass line.

It really does look great, I love it.  I actually play it more at home than I do my SII bass.
We are doing some big festivals this year, Camp Bestival and, The Isle of Wight Bestival so I may take one of the series basses there. 10's of thousands turn up at the Bestival I'm told..... Cool
