I know this might be obvious to some but I really don't know. Can someone tell me what comes with the Series II? Does the splitter/power box and a 5 pin cord come with it? And will Alembic sell us an extra box?

Yes, yes and yes. Replacement power supplies run about $600, IIRC, and you have your choice of the classic blue box or a rackmountable version.

I believe a bluebox is now a special order item, if Ron can find the time to put one together.  They only maintain the rackmount in stock.

When I was looking into my now postponed custom I inquired about a Blue Box and was told no dice man. Bummer

I wonder what the guts of the rackmount look like and whether a capable mortal could reasonably transplant them into a blue box sized unit?

I haven't seen the inside of the rackmount unit, but there's not a lot going on inside my blue box, so I imagine it's possible.
mere, I have two (one came with each bass) and might be talked out of one blue box if you really, really need one.
