What's between the bass and the case? Is there any cushioning material used? I mean, you'll need something to slow it down when it drops.

Manfred, I don't think they're sending an unprotected instrument in that crate - only an instrument inside a case.

I didn't realize that the Bass Gary was talking about was a Spyder.  Those would definitely require a special case rather than a generic dealer case.  Most of my Alembics are Excels which fit nicely in a generic dealer P-Bass case.
Gary, I certainly apologize if I appeared insensitive to your frustration.  At least (hopefully) the Bass is perfect and the case can still protect it until its replacement arrives.  I can understand how these things can take awhile, but there are good people here who will take care of you.

Best wishes - and hang in there ;)

Wow another case story.  Mine was waiting and waiting, and waiting for a case for my Skylark.

However the case did eventually come after 8 weeks (tolerable).

I had to have this case because the Skylark didn't seem to fit in the standard genric cases becuase it's oddly shaped, long, and wide.

And becuase of that, I have a Protech case (shipped with the Skylark) that I am willing to part with...e-mail me

Hope you get your case soon.  With Alembic the wait is almost always worth it.

The only thing that stays the same is change.
