I'd like to know if only one filter, no Q, could get a essence (5 strings) in a slapping mode?
 
Would a Q help to simulate an accoustic sound?

I have a fretless essence with the standard single filter control.  Through my Ashdown amp, I can get it to sound very much like a double bass by plucking with the fat part of my finger up around the 17-20th fret.  I don't know if a Q switch would help, but it's such a great sound already I'm not dying for one.
 
I don't slap much, never on fretless, so I can't speak to that question.
