10 available?  $5 shipping?  $1 Buy It Now (which doesn't work)?  This deck and the Wall of Sound were rented out to many other bands during the Summer of Love (1967)?  Hello red flags!

Hm, must be the rarest rack-mount from the mothership ... Alembic Capstan Speed Controller.

Adrian,  Thanks !  I own an Ampex AG440C 1/2 inch tape 4 channel machine with the DC Servo Capstan and the VS-10 speed controller. Also, an Ampex AG440B 1/4 inch machine, which is the same model that audio engineer Stephen Barncard said that he mixed down the Grateful Dead album American Beauty on.

Random question:  can anyone tell me why the 16 different machines are not in any particular order? I see they are numbered. Does it just not matter? What's the process by which they got out of order?

I mean... my sense of the order of things says odd should be left, even should be on the right... should I have some juice and crackers and try to take it easy?

Edwardofhuncote .LOL ! There are not 16 different machines in the photo. There is One machine with 16 channel electronics units. I shall not offer a definitive answer as to the order of the electronics except that they are generally interchangeable due to the modular design of the machine and therefore the numbers may not be actually representative to the track configuration on the head assembly and therefore the numbers on the electronics may be disregarded. Perhaps! ;D 8) :) :o  LOL ! Just maybe _____
