hello, new here. I just acquired the alembic activator/jazz bass pick ups for my fender jbass, there is no switch in the wiring harness and I'd like to add one. Alembic is out of stock of the switches on their website and I cant seem to find much information about them. I was wondering if anyone has pictures of the circuit or a diagram/schematics for making one. they seem pretty simple to make. I was able to find a picture on here of how to install them to the preamp so I have that to work with.

Hi, and welcome to the club. I'm sure we can get you sorted out, but first I think we need a little more info before someone can offer appropriate advice.  First question is what exactly do you have?  Any electronics or just the pickups?  If you have matching Alembic electronics, I suggest posting pics so we can figure out just what you have and what options are available.

sorry, I should have specified that. it has the electronics as well. I dont have pictures at the moment but I can attach some photos from the listing on reverb. they aren't the best photos but I can post some better ones later this week.

Hello,

I think these will be helpful. I pulled them from other club discussion threads for q-switch installations.

Here is a detailed image of the three-way q-switch:

As notated in the image, the switch shown is the C&K 7211 toggle switch (on/on/on)

And here are the installation instructions. Please keep in mind that they describe installing the two-way switch, but you would connect the three-way switch assembly in the same location:

The capacitors are 80 volts DC. I have an uninstalled two-way Q-switch handy, so I checked its capacitor to confirm.

No idea what I am looking at* but recognize that a skilled and steady hand(s) crafted it.

Nice job!

* I'm a notch above Amish with 'lectricity.
