well that old girl's been around.  haven't seen her in awhile.  i don't facebook so i can't view the ad.  i'm really looking for a 5-string fretless so maybe i'll focus on that instead.
Been down...now i'm out!

That is lust worthy, the back is marvelous and the 8/ 4 fretless combo would provide a lot of fun tonal opportunities.  😍

Maybe someone can contact the seller on FB and direct him here?I can do that if you like.

I wish I could remember how much the John Judge doubleneck cost when I first saw it back around 2001 - maybe around $8000?

Was searching around the net this morning and realized there has been no mention of the serial number.  An old Reverb add listed completion date of 2/15/79.  The add also stated it is a Series II but the Q switches are clearly Series I.  There seems to be no battery cover(s)  Would they be inside the control cavity or was this bass designed to be used with the power supply exclusively?  Was also interesting to read that it was briefly stolen in NYC.

Well folks, just in passing,

I saw this photo on "Etsy".

The add is for a double neck guitar stand!

I guess Goliath did have children  ;D ;D ;D

That's leviathan and its stand.  Previous owner had the stand made.

Inspected Goliath today. I can confirm the serial number (stamped on the 8-string headstock) is 78 1000.
The batteries are in the control cavity.  The inlay artist stamped his name in the control cavity under the batteries. Between the necks, the back knob is Master Volume. The middle knob is neck selector and the forward knob is a mystery.....ir has 6 positions and seems to affect the Q settings. ? !  It's directionally noisy.  The Mains are in a 1920's house. The owner adjusted the noise canceller pots a bit but it made little difference. Since he never had a 5-pin....today he saw the neck LED's for the first time in 7 years!  It was a Wonderful afternoon discussing Goliath's history!
