Farm animal vet gets a call from a farmer who thinks his old dog has passed.

Told him he was headed that way to look at a horse, he'd stop by after.

Pulls up in the yard, walks up on the porch, and here's the old timer ruefully looking at his dog, just laying there.

Vet stoops down, feels around him, stands up, 'Zeke, I think he's gone'.  'Oh Doc, are you sure?  The vet tells him hang on, he can do a quick test.

Goes back to his car and comes back with a big yellow tomcat in a carrier.  Holds it right up to the dog, cat goes crazy, hissing and yowling.  Not even a twitch from the dog.

'Yessir, I'm sure, he's gone.  Sorry'

'Well that's a real shame, but I appreciate you swinging by, Doc, whadda I owe you?'

'That'll be five-hundred twenty-five dollars.'

The guy goes ballistic.  '$525, how on Earth could this visit cost that much?  You GOT to be kidding me !'

'Nope.  $25 for the house call, and $500 for the Cat Scan'.

Same vet then brought a retriever from his car.  The retriever sniffed at the inert dog, then walked away.  The vet said,"another $100 for the Lab report".
