Hey Nol

Congratulations on your beautiful new bass, and welcome to the club. I like how you captured what seems like a flame-like top on one of your pictures, and I'm really liking the pearl inlays on the headstock logo. Hope it sounds as good, as it looks.

Honor the previous owner and enjoy it in good health!

Thanks! I wish I knew more about it. It's kind of an anomaly. I wish I knew more about who the original owner was. From what I understand from the fella that sold it to me, he got it from an estate sale. So sadly, I think the original owner has passed away. It's in good hands though and its well loved and cared for.

Coming up on a year of owning this bass and its now impossible to play anything else. It makes magic.

Well, a year has come and gone. Its now my main bass and I've recorded with it. Absolutely in love with it.

Hey everyone, so more updates as I continue on this Alembic owners journey.
I have it primarily tuned for tenor. ADGC. Its addicting! I'm at the point now that if I play other basses I don't play them for very long. Feels like cheating!
I live in the north east so climate here has been problematic for the fretboard. After several days of humidifier and fretboard oil the dryness and fret sprout has settled down a lot. The only thing I wish the bass had is that fancy power supply plug thing so that I don't have to keep putting 9volts in it. I'm going to refer to buying batteries as stimulating the economy from now on  ;D

I have been thinking of stringing my SC Signature as a tenor. What gauge and brand of strings do you use.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Sorry for the delay!

I use a custom set of strings that JustStrings.com made for me. Rest in Peace. Stainless, .25, .30, .55, .75. But I'm looking to change that up. .30, .40, .55, .75. The biggest issue is that I can't find anyone that sells individual strings and I can't seem to land an artist endorsement either from a string company despite other endorsements.

I use Strings By Mail for anything I can't get over the counter at the store. I see they have D'Addario singles in smaller gauges listed.
