Selling my nice condition original early 1977 Series 1 Medium scale 4-string. A few dings and a couple of finish chips here and there, but in better condition than most basses this age. Nicely set-up and in easy playing condition. Beautiful top on this one, and it has a nice additional veneer between the core and the back/top. Original case, cord, and supply. I put an adjustable nut on it, and will include the original nut. Original playable frets. No cracks or breaks. Electronics have been to Alembic and any needed tweaking was done by RW. No upgrade was needed for this bass. Lower 48 buyers and local Los Angeles area pickup welcome. Buyer pays actual shipping. $6100.00
top: Bird's-eye Maple
accent: Purpleheart laminates
body: Mahogany
back: Bird's-eye Maple
Peghead veneer: Zebrawood
neck: Maple and Purpleheart
inlays: not recorded, but looks like mother of pearl from here
originally made for: Rothschild

That bass would make a good dog break his leash. One of my favorites!

Hi Greg, this bass is the loudest acoustically that I have ever heard. A very nice example, and the case is in pretty decent shape, too, it was really well cared for. It belonged to a guitar player in Texas. I've had it for 8 years?

I wanted to add that I have 6K in this bass. I appreciate the current offers, but it's priced fairly and no sales tax, so I'm firm on the price. Thanks, Keith

Maple is so nice. I'm surely going to miss this one, but I have a custom (also maple) on the way.

I posted a link to this on one of the facebook Alembic groups. Did the buyer see it there?

Congratulations on the sale. As always hoping this was bought by someone to play, not flip.

77-624 will remain in the Club and joyously played as frequently as possible!  I also own 77-623, its medium scale fraternal twin, a delightful instrument, so I couldn't pass this one up!

Thanks Chris. It has a big sound, and the filters on this particular bass are really responsive after RW tweaked it. He replaced an FET, the ribbon harness, jacks, and one trim pot.
