The bass player's function, along with the drums, is to be the engine that drives the car... everything else is merely colours.

Bill . My old friend , Drummer Brian Melvin got the gig with a long cast of invited players that he contacted to perform with him , I was asked to play 4 Dead tunes out of his lineup of musicians. Brian had introduced me to Jaco Pastorius ,back in the days when he was gigging with him . :)

Just had a set of photos from a photographer at a festival we did early this summer.
Oh, your're the guy on youtube that I commented on the Steely Dan "Peg" video. I thought your Elan was a Spoiler. Still learning here. Great cover.

Live in Ageo Saitama yesterday. Distillate Bass in action. There were a bunch of bands so we all used the same amp.

Great pictures everyone.  Makes me wish I was gigging....

wonder if there are any bands that are done performing by 8:00pm?

Thanks for the pictures; I always enjoy the pics in this thread!

Agreed with the previous two posts! Gig pics are awesome - the other "stuff" whether bass related (like amps, effects, etc.) or gig related or room related - points to the various dimensions of playing!

Hiya folks,

For those that don't use Facebook, you might like this. I took my 8 string to a Prog gig - the gig was with the Hayley Griffiths Band. Overall, pretty decent gig and I had fun using this beast. Luckily it was a good thing I took this one because my DW bass' battery started to go before the set ended. Phew, saved the gig and nobody knew. WIN!

Anyway, cheers!

I did see this on Facebook, great pic. I had friends at that fest. Some of the "Chicago prog gang" travel the world for festivals like Fusion.
