Im just wondering if anyone has ever started an Alembic Discord group. I think it will be beneficial for sharing information and we can also have live chat sessions, live technical help, etc.

But seriously folks... I am guessing our friend Jack means the communication platform, Discord. I've never used it, but my trainees at work talk about stuff, and sometimes I ask what the ham-sandwich are they are talking about.

Kinda shows the age of this group eh? We will eventually in all likelihood use it but by then the younger generation will be on something newer, faster, and "better" in some way I don't understand.

We did talk about trying to do an international Zoom Gathering during the COVID lockdown, but I don't remember if it ever materialized.


I can see how Discord might be very useful for a troubleshooting solution, just for one. My kids (I really gotta' quit calling them that...) use it for exam study group purposes with Operator trainees at other treatment plants.

An "Alembic Discord Group" sounds like a place people would go to complain, bitch, and moan about Alembics.  Ain't gonna be much content there!

😆😆😆 well, if we ever want to start one up, i can help do the initial setup. I have been an admin on another discord group before. But best is for Alembic to start one up by themselves so its more official

heard of it.  so i hadda loook it up.  sounds like one of those newfangled cloud things written with 1990's -era coding practices jsut waiting for a data breach.  oh wait.  they just had one.  760000 user's PII.  actually kinda tame in the larger scheme of things lately, but i digress....

other than that, kinds sounds like the the old usenet with upgrades.  pass.
