I just spotted this on the Barefaced audio group on facebook.
I guess it's a custom Elan with an F-Style body. Vol, pan, filter.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

That's a nice Custom.

Looks like one of the resin infused tops, but using a burled maple rather than buckeye, maybe? The matched headstock is bonus points, especially for Fender-folk.

If I was guessing, I'd agree probably Vol./Pan/Filt. but could also be old-school Persuader, 2 Volume and Filter. Just thinking, the person who orders a JB shaped Custom Alembic may prefer 2 Volume pots...

Nice looking bass, probably sounds great with those two Barefaced 110 cabs :)

Beautiful! Looks like a short scale too.

It is a short scale! The top is Buckeye Burl with Rezin. This one has some cool glitter in the large blue swaths of color.

The pickups were murder to make. Except for the failed ones, which show a little copper peeking on the side, this is the last cream colored JZ pickups I'm making. Only going to cast JZ pickups in ABS plastic shells from now on.

Here's a close up of those beautiful cream color pickups.
Thanks Mica !

They really did turn out nice, Dan. The color is like white chocolate - delicious!

I was about to say, they remind me of the white chocolate KitKat bars.
