Nice pics of the new Alembic facility Jazzy! I have yet to visit.

Due to crossed signals I missed the mini-gathering on Monday but have tentative plans to stop by Bill's tonight with my wife to meet Vince and his wife. I was not in the Alembic club the last time he visited the Bay Area.

Vince, I was going to ask if you wanted to check out my Balance K-Series II five-string while you are in the area but since you played one at the Mothership I was wondering if you would like to see my 1978 Series five-string? When I posted a picture of it in the showcase section (pics are no longer there) you were one of the members who said they may be interested if I decide to sell it. I suspected at the time it was not the bass for you but since it is an example of a very early five-string you may want to at least see it.

The figuring on the short scale is stunning.

Alembic makes acoustic sixes? How have I never known this?

Jazzy - I hope you're making the most of the breaks from touring (looks like it) and enjoy the overall experience.

Alembic made a prototype.   As far as I know they have yet to offer acoustics for sale.

The prototype acoustic was around for years, I thought a small number of them have been built.

Would have to ask Harry (or Mica) but I am pretty sure that the Alembic acoustic guitar on display at the International Pen Show was for sale. I also vaguely remember Mica saying they had a few on order but it was a while ago. She brought the prototype to one of the gatherings a number of years ago but the acoustic guitars have largely been "under the radar".

Great meetup picture!!  And some nice shots of some amazing instruments at the shop!

Sorry I missed you, Vince! I was recovering from my pen show trip, and some kick-ass physical therapy. Long road ahead!

The acoustic you played was number 2 (it's already sold) - there are three finished acoustic guitars in addition to the protoype that I brought to the Alembic Gathering. There's another 7 under construction now, including a special African Blackwood back and sides for yours truly. I think you'll see the next ones at Eddie's Guitars and Northern Lights Music.

So glad you got a chance to see the new facility, and to check out some of the works in progress. Looks like the mini-gathering was great fun. Miss you guys!

Hi Mica, sad we didn't get to meet but it is completely understandable. We had a good time looking around and chatting. It is easy to see how a visit can end in a new order as looking at the basses in production is seductive.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

This might not be the correct thread to post this but......I'm on Another Harley Road Trip and I find myself passing the Mothership October 12th (a Thursday) on my way to Ukiah for the night. I'm hoping for a Tour of the new facility (Mica) and dreading the idea of buying something! Was also inquiring if any fellow club members are playing in the area around that time?  My lodging reservations are not in stone at this time so I can make adjustments to catch a gig.

You'll be able to get a tour even if I'm not there - but I sure hope to be! Actually I'm heading on for a short while today to see how it goes.

Dead Enough, (Sonicus and I are both in the band), has a gig on Saturday, 10/14, in Crockett, part of the Bay Area.  It's part of a Grateful Dead weekend with two bands each night at two different venues.

Totally understand your schedule / recovery Mica....I just wanted to give a heads up that I would like to visit the new digs. Vince posted some photos of amazing works-in-progress and I'd like to see what's in the works.

As far as gigs go, I'd have to hang around for 2 days to catch the Saturday gigs. I'm not pressed for time ...... but need to check to see if I brought enough prescription meds to hang for that long! HA!

Oh.....to be young again.....

Met you and Wolf at the 2017 Gathering and would like to see youse guys again!  Hey, it's been 6 YEARS since the last Gathering.

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I have never played a Series bass.  And I've owned Alembics for 30 years!

What would be a good time to visit?  I'm starting out in Modesto in the AM.....looks to be about a 2 hour ride to Rohnert Park.

Oh.....to own all 3 versions of the Spyder......alas, the 4 strings are sold out.

Just a bump of this thread. I'm currently in Lathrop, CA and that makes me about 2 hours from the mothership!  I'll be there Thursday 10/12. What would be a good time to arrive?  I'm only heading to Ukiah for the night so plenty of time to see "the Alembic" sights.
