This is a better-than-new 1997 Alembic Orion 5-String, with Bubinga top.  Custom features include full gloss body, custom Europa headstock, 24k gold-plated hardware/logo, new EVO gold frets, abalone fingerboard inlays, new brass backplate and truss-rod cover, upgraded electrics with 3-position Q switch.

I purchased this bass last year, knowing I'd have to wait over a year for my Alembic custom build.  This bass was in incredible condition but it had a bit of play wear.  I replaced the tuning pegs with brand new Alembic-branded tuners (purchased directly from Alembic), and had all the hardware (bridge, tailpiece, nut, logo) plated in 24K gold, so it will never need polishing. 

I then sent the bass to Alembic to be refinished and customized.  It was refinished in full gloss with satin neck - very rare for an Orion - so now it's essentially like new.  I had it regretted with evo gold frets and added abalone fingerboard inlays.  I also had the neck thinned out a bit and it is soooo smoooooth now. 

I also had Alembic replace the electronics to add a 3-position Q switch - so now the controls are volume, pan, filter, Q3.  The bass has a custom Europa headstock.  So what we have here is a one-of-a-kind bass that is indistinguishable from new - it is literally perfect.

A new 5-string Orion has a retail price of $11,300 - with no customizations.  This one would cost far more.  I am asking $6,750 and am open to offers.  On Long Island, NY.

I only wish I were looking for a 5er. You certainly have done (and added) everything to make this the best Orion in existence. I have gold plating on my Brown Bass hardware. It may not always be perfectly clean, but it beats hell out of polishing brass!! GLWYS. Bill
