Sweet!

Could you explain the electronics?

rv_bass

It has 20th Anniversary electronics, so:

1. Volume, low pass filter, 3-position Q-switch for each pickup
2. Four-position pickup selector (including mute)
3. Master volume
4. Mono-stereo switch for 1/4" side jack (for powering with batteries)
5. Five-pin out allows for use with a DS-5 (which I normally use so I don't have to worry about batteries)
      - this allows for stereo or mono out and direct power

Nice! I think the five-pin connector was throwing me off!

I had my 5-string Stanley upgraded to Anniversary, but without the master volume - I can see how that would be really useful.

rv_bass

Yes, the master volume is handy, just set the mix with all of the other controls, and then modify the volume with just one knob when needed :)

Added custom ebony and gold knobs...Poornigel got me started on those  :)

I've upgraded my 4 string Stanley to Anniversary recently without master volume.

Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

sonicus

I like what was done with this bass as well as the choices that were made to arrive at the result .

rv_bass

Thanks, Mario and Sonicus (and the good people of Alembic!), it looks and sounds very cool!

And Jazzyvee, I love the Anniversary electronics   :)

I have no doubt they will be a good upgrade and yes, your bass looks superb. White pickups on my black Europa would probably look great. :-)

This bass looks, and I think I can assume, sounds exceptional. If I could find a decently priced vintage Starfire I think I'd do exactly what you did to it. And the white PUs look outstanding.
