Oasis on reverb.
I used to have one just like it. Looked 70's but sounded kinda 60's to me.

If I wasn't still waiting for an electronics upgrade to get done on a shop night special Series 1 I purchased last December and looking to send in a Series I fretless for a complete refurbish as soon as my shopnighter is done, I'd be very interested in this one.

Here is a pic of the one I used to have. I think I sold it to someone here on the forum.

I know what various Alembic basses and guitars are worth. I also know that I really haven't seen much on Reverb that I would consider a really good deal. What I do not know is what an Oasis bass is worth. David, how long ago did you sell your Oasis and would you mind giving me a general idea as to the price for which it sold?

From what I've observed, Oasis guitars and basses tend to go in the $1500-$2000 range.  But they come up so rarely that valuation is really a matter of how badly you want one.  Similar to Hyak, but maybe even rarer.  There's currently an Oasis guitar on reverb that has been there for awhile at $2750.

That sounds about right. I would value a Hyak above an Oasis.

Purchased by our Alembic friend and serious bassist and collector, Tony Senatore. May he play it good health.

What are the screws on the tailpiece for?
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

They look like fine tuners to me.

I communicated with the seller and that's what I was told was their purpose.

I really wanted to pull the trigger on this one. After an email with the seller, the need for a potential refret job, the seller not really being willing to come down to a selling price that was closer to what people here indicated was the value of the bass, and the fact that I still have a bass at Alembic that needs work but don't know what the cost is going to be prevented me from adding this to my stable.

Im glad it found a good home with Tony and hope it gets the playing time it deserves.

I also have been wanting one of these for a while.    Yes, it was a little pricey for me especially with that thumb rest added.    I also was not too fond of the finish.     It was also a bad time.    I'm kinda broke.    The medium scale spoke to me though.

I dig this type of stuff from back then, Hyaks, Oasis, etc....    I am still searching for a short or medium scale Hyak with no scroll.    Probably does not exist.

Tony, let us know how the bass is.   I would like a full report!

I was just watching this Kool and the Gang video today and the bass player sure looks like he is playing an Oasis. It shows up well near the middle of the song.
