Thought I'd start a thread for Photoshop-oriented folks who love their Alembics more than their pets to submit wallpapers for your computers. For what it's worth, here's a Series 1 Wallpaper:

doesn't look like a Series I to me!

It's a custom built Series 1. I know because it's mine.

where's the hum-canceller at? you got it buried in there somewhere?

mike4magic

Dunno. I'll take a better (close-up) pic of it when it comes back to me from Alembic.

Hi Mike, welcome to the group.  Nice wallpaper!  I don't see a five-pin connector on the bass.  It has the appearance of a Stanley Clarke Signature rather than a Series I; but then if the five-pin connector was side-mounted it wouldn't be visible in the picture.  And as regards the hum-canceller, there are a few custom basses where the hum-canceller is hidden in the body.  The pickup selector switch is also missing; but I suppose the bass could have been custom ordered without a pickup selector switch.  Also, a Series I is generally going to have Purpleheart neck laminates, and this appears to be a Maple neck with Walnut accent stripes.  It's a beautiful bass, I especially love the top wood; but it sure looks like a Stanley Clarke Signature Standard.

Hi Mike, don't worry, I used to hear that don't look like a Series I to me, all the time. I had a toy Collie I named Series I. I'm pretty sure she had a hum-canceller buried in her as she had lots of puppies.  This is a rough crowd I tell ya ( Rodney Dangerfield )

I would like to custom order a Series I that is just like a Stanley Signature. I guess Alembic can do anything the customer wants.

That appears to be the same bass listed on the products page for Signature Standard

You're not pulling our leg, are you?

D'OH!

It appears as if you are all correct -- I got my pics screwed up; I have a bunch of pics on the 'puter, and the one I thought was my bass was a Signature, not Series 1 (it was labeled s1). My Series 1 has the same body, which is where the confusion lay on my part. I have had the bass for over 10 years but stopped playing the last 4 and recently picked it up again and discovered this board. In my zeal, I hastily made a wallpaper without remembering the details about my own instrument. Apologies.

However, as soon as my S1 comes back from repair, I'll make a wallpaper of it and submit it here if you all like. Well, I've certainly started out on a positive note on this board... ;)

Does anyone else have wallpapers of their bass/guitar?

mike likes to use his magic to fool everyone. ;)

Here's one I cleaned the background on and brightened the peghead's color a little. It is currently my desktop. Enjoy.

Hi Mike, nice piece of wood. Is this your bass? BTW, what happened to your bass requiring it to go back home?

mike4magic

Thanks, j. No, this came from the Alembic store online. I just cleaned it up and punched up the background. My Series 1's electronics went out on me. The bass would play for the first 5 seconds of plug-in and then fade out. At first I thought it may have been the battery connectors, but it looks to be something else. Waaaaay out of my league.
