Blaster Question

Does the Blaster act as a buffer?  Does it convert a passive Strat to low impedance?

Yes and yes--it's a FET preamp.

Would a blaster be useful with Alembic pickups and electronics like those in this Orion guitar?

no - it's already got an active circuit.

Couldn't the Blaster be added to Alembic electronics to add an on-board boost?  I believe Dr. Jonathan has Blasters in a couple of his Alembics.

No. Jonathan does has a boost circuit, but it's not a Blaster. The Blaster is designed to have incredibly low power drain. What we do with our house electronics is even better that what the Blaster does.
