I love the Mutron phaser II's (the ones with three colors on the face). I hear that the Mutron phaser I wasn't optical. I have an EH stereo polyphase that is great for guitar, I'll have to try it with the bass today (and report back). It has some functions that I like; having the sweep triggered with note attack, and being able to specify where the sweep starts and stops.

I'll also have to try my Maestro PS-1 on bass (and report back). The Maestro has the ramping function that smoothly changes the speed when it is changed , reacting similar to the way a leslie motor does. That's the one that Page uses on 'No Quarter' in fast mode.

+1 on the TC Chorus/Flanger/Pitch

I have also found the TC Electronics unit to be the one with the lowest noise level .

Hello Friends ,

I actually own a Markbass combo 2 x 10 and looked at their other products ... i found a chorus pedal which is not already in stores i think...u can program 3 chorus or / with flange and of course , choose between them .

They also have a pedal called : Super Booster ...which features VLE and VPF filters that really sound great .

Think about Taurus Vechoor. It's absolutely great. No colorize, 2 effects on board, fantastic rich sound. Taurus effects win  Bass Gear Magazine’s  Outstanding New Product Line Introduction Award at 2009 Musikmesse. You can read more on www.taurus-amp.pl

How weird, but I've never even tried using a chorus pedal with bass, although I briefly owned a bass chorus pedal(20 years ago, used on guitar)
Maybe I need to try chorus again...Tony

i use it all the time it's my number 1 effect i use(followed by distortion with wah, and then flanger), as in my first comment on here, i highly recommend the Boss CEB-3, sounds incredible and it won't break the bank :-D

I no longer use any form of effects on my basses. I prefer clean sounds. I love the sounds of a bass chorus and I hear so much of it with fretless basses to give that full enhanced echo-ee sounds which helps hitting harmonics almost sound everlasting. Fusion Jazz, loves a chorus bass. It's nice, I must admit. I remember a Disco band, Heat-Wave push a hit recording called: Groove-Line used a very strong chorus bass sound, which I believed really made that song really pop.

Chorus sounding basses, makes more sense for fingering styles and not so good for funk riffs in thumbing and popping. Just my opinion...

i agree with Hal, i use my chorus mainly with finger, but also if i'm playing chords with a pick, makes it sound very full and pleasing, throw a little delay in there and then its a party :-p(i have a problem when it comes to mixing pedals together, i try to get the strangest/cool sounds out of them as i can to create something unique :-D)

I play in a psyche band so there is lots of swirling bass and organ sounds on the regular. On my board I have an EH stereo electric mistress xo (this is the compact reissue version), a modded out ibanez twin cam chorus (tc-10) and carl martin bass chorus. I have found that the trick to getting a full sounding chorus effect through a mono amp is to use a pedal that two layers of modulation built into one box. The electric mistress is what my tech calls a florus flanger+chorus, while the other two chorus pedals have wave shapes that oscillate at different speeds so you never get that bad out of tune sound. check out www.pedaleffectspluswarehouse.com or www.pedalgeek.com

..TC website and other reviews and in fact , most of the musicians who are using this pedal are Guitar players , not bassists... will it really work that good for a bass ?

Yes.  It works wonderfully with a bass.  That's all I use it for.
