After several years of good intentions, I finally got another P-bass body, pulled these out of the drawer they were hiding in, and put together a bass for them. After playing a while this evening, I wish I'd taken the time to do so earlier, instead of waiting so long. They sound great.

Have you thought about adding a 3-way Q switch?  It really adds a new dimension.   There is another current discussion about another modified P-Bass, with lots of info about the Q switch, in this thread:

Actually, that was part of the original plan. Now that this project has taken back off, after years on being on the back burner, it's time look into that again. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
