Greetings from Connecticut - I've been a fan of Alembic instruments since I was turned on to them with Greg Lake of King Crimson and ELP and John Paul Jones of Zeppelin. I play guitar and piano in a working original band here in the northeast and was looking for my next guitar when I saw a local ad for this Darling and instantly fell in love with it.
I contacted the seller (Steve) in NY and finally was able to acquire the guitar. Great guy.

My guitars are tools and this will be played out regularly at shows.
I've only had it a few days but can tell it's going to work out great for our music - first gig tonight in Westport, CT.
I look forward to learning all about Alembic instruments and back stories from the experts on this site.
Talk soon,
Jeff

Fantastic guitar Jeff. Welcome to the club from Scotland.

Welcome to the club, Jeff.  Always nice to have another skinny six-stringer in the fold.  Most of these guys use those bridge cables!  But you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer, more knowledgeable group.  Enjoy your Darling and let us know if you have any Alembic questions.

Ok- first gig worked out better than
I expected...set up the neck pickup for clean and the bridge for overdrive... Worked out great.
I play through a 1964 Tremolux with a matching 1964  2-10" cab and a fairly high end pedalboard(Analogman stuff) and a Fulltone OCD drive pedal.

Let me say I have a bevy of high end guitars and this performed better than any of them in a live scenario!! The band just inked a deal to open Jefferson Starship for March 2019 and I will tell you this  guitar will be my #1 for that show or group of shows.

I have a deep intimate connection with all my guitars anf I must say....this is f@ckin really deep out of the gate... (Bows...)

I don't mean to sound morbid, but without Paul or Marty, and with Grace retired, how can there be a Jefferson Starship?

Sounds like you're bonding with that new guitar pretty quick... good sign you'll soon have a backup Alembic. ;)

Also sounds like a cool gig. I wondered the same as Bill, but apparently, torches have been officially passed, and the show goes on. I think it's great. Congratulations on your new gig too.

Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

Thanks everyone.
Regarding the upcoming show, of course it's not the original band anymore but Grace hand picked Cathy, Donnie and David are still there and the music is the music - they still have incredible draw power.
I'm pretty excited about it!
