You can just see the head-stock of my Series I for this HOT outdoor gig.

The band that followed us (97Nine), also has a bass player who plays an Alembic. He was smiling at me as they were loading in. At first I couldn't figure out why, but then I realized - a fellow Alembic aficionado.

That's really cool Tom.  'Cept for the heat index!

Does Jeff from 97nine know about this sight?
I found this about him, love the heart shaped omega cut.

I played last Friday and Saturday nights at the same place, indoors at a small festival in Dorset, UK. The lighting wasn't great, but you can just about make out the Epic bass I bought a few days before the gig. I thought I'd try it for a couple of numbers and then use my tried and trusted Fender or Gibson, but never even opened the cases on the spares, all I wanted to play was my Alembic!

Thank you! Hopefully some better pictures from the weekend will come to light, but I was wedged into a dark corner and couldn't face the audience without risking a dent in the Epic's headstock from hitting the keyboard player's head!

Cool! I'm actually a founding member of 97Nine (and gave the band its name, based off the old 97.9 the Loop radio station). I've played Jeff's bass. It's a beast! 36'' scale 5 string Rogue with a mini omega cut. I had just bought my Distillate when I decided to leave the band, so I thought it was funny they got a guy who plays an Alembic!

Small world! Yeah, that 36" Rogue is quite something, with the Extra-Long Scale. And 97Nine is a great band, too. Definitely benefits by having a bass with definition like that.

We didn't get too long to chat - load-in and load-out was a tight turnaround, so I didn't get a chance to mention the Alembic Club to him.

Not sure if he knows about the club, but he does know about the website in general. Another acquaintance of ours owns an amazing "featured custom" called She. http://www.alembicguitars.net/info/fc_she.html

Here is a pic at a local Jazz festival with my Series II Europa.
And actually this was one of the rare times I have used an ampeg rig on stage that didn't sound like it had been thrashed.

I put the graphic flat and kept away from any kind of input gain or eq that produced the edgy sounds the other bands got and I was rewarded handsomely with sonic sweetness.

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Great pic, I'm usually in the dark next to the drums, so rare to get anything worth sharing, definitely none as clear as yours. Cool bass, cool player.

That happens on most of the gigs when I'm not the band leader as in those I'm usually hidden at the back by the drummer and behind the brass section.
This gig was different as I'm the band leader so right up front with the sax player.
