This isn't a standard point, but it's a pretty cool five string Series II

Hi, Alan,

This may unintentionally seem a pedantic question, but if you have trouble finding a Series 2 that you like, have you considered looking for a pristine 4-string 32"/34" Series 1 that you like, speaking to Alembic and the seller to arrange its shipment to Alembic, having the controls converted to those of a Series 2, and then arrange shipment back to you in Ireland?  The biggest difference between a Series 1->2 electronics swap vs. a Series 2 would likely be the composition of the bass's core/the number of stringers.  I am not sure if that would be too objectionable, but I thought perhaps this might give you more latitude in choosing a bass.  Best of luck!

Cheers,
-Zut
